What is Gyno Daktarin Vaginal Cream?

Gyno Daktarin Vaginal cream is a topical antifungal medication that is used to treat yeast infections of the vagina. It can also be used to treat both acute and chronic yeast infections of the vagina. This medication is available over-the-counter and does not require a prescription from a healthcare provider.

How Does Gyno Daktarin Vaginal Cream Work?

The active component in Gyno-Daktarin cream is miconazole. Miconazole is an antifungal drug that is used to treat fungal and yeast infections. It targets fungi and yeasts by damaging their cell membranes. Miconazole also works by preventing the fungus from synthesizing ergosterol, which is an important component of fungal cell membranes. The disruption of ergosterol production causes holes to appear in the fungal cell membrane. As a result, important components of fungal cells leak out, as undesirable chemicals enter the cells. This destroys the fungi while also treating the infection.
