What is Canesten Pessaries?

A pessary is a small, round vaginal insert that is used to treat various conditions of the vagina and vulva. Canesten pessaries is an anti-fungal medication that is used to treat vaginal yeast infections. Canesten pessaries is a prescription medication that can also be available over-the-counter.

How Does Canesten Pessaries Work?

Canesten pessaries are inserted into the vagina, where they dissolve and release the active ingredient, Clotrimazole. Clotrimazole enters into the bloodstream where it is transported to the affected body parts and proceeds to kill the fungi that are causing the infection. Clotrimazole also helps to restore the skin's natural balance, which can help to prevent future infections from occurring. Canesten pessaries also help to soak up any moisture in the vagina and restore the normal pH balance of the vagina. This helps to reduce irritation and itching, as well as helping to prevent further infections from occurring.
